Application
For enrollment in July 2022 application deadline is December 1, 2021. For enrollment in July 2023, application deadline is December 1, 2022. Qualifications All applicants must graduate from an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency program. Applicants must be considered board-eligible or board-certified (BE/BC) by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM). All applicants must qualify for a Virginia state medical license and be able to be credentialed in all seven Sentara facilities. Master of Public Health (MPH) Fellows on the two-year track must complete the requirements for a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from an institution approved by the Fellowship Director. Fellows will be required to complete a separate application for admission and be accepted to the MPH program of their choice prior to starting the MPH and fellowship. It is anticipated that the fellow will complete the MPH degree within 18-24 months, depending on the program chosen.
Application Process
All applicants are required to submit: Curriculum vitae (CV) A letter of intent/personal statement Two letters of recommendation (one must be from your EM Residency Program Director) Submit to Fellowship Director Carol McCammon, M.D., MPH. The letter of intent should be one page or less. Applicants should describe their experiences, their interests in Global Emergency Medicine and how the fellowship may enhance their career goals and expectations. Interview offers will be extended at the Fellowship Director's discretion. Fellows will be notified of acceptance through email. Fellows who are interested in the two-year track with an MPH degree must complete their MPH applications prior to the school's application deadlines. Failure to meet these requirements may exclude the fellow from the MPH program.
